Period 5 days late, dull cramping gets a little worse and lasts a little longer each day.

I havent taken a test yet, nor was this planned. My last period began 09/24 my next period was due 10/22 .. I am now 5 days late. Starting on 10/21 I had the usual cramps I get before my period, and actually felt as if my period had came on but it didnt. This has occurred everyday since. The cramps are overall dull but each day they get a little worse and last a little longer. I had sex this month but no ejaculation occured. I have been under alot of stress lately. Could this just be that I skipped a period or that I have a cyst? Or should I take a pregnancy test.
