Question

Could it be twins?? Or even triplets?

I did iui in the middle of January. Used clomid and trigger shot, had 3 mature follicles sized 18,24, & 25. With my first iui, that resulted in a singleton 2 years ago, I had 2 mature follicles both sized 18. Got my BFP at 12 dpo and I feel awful!! My hcg levels have been drawn 3x, and continue to rise as expected. Am currently 5 weeks, so too early to have ultrasound to confirm twins. I just have this gut feeling, as well as every pregnancy symptom amplified 5x. Nausea, extreme exhaustion, and pressure and cramping (no bleeding). I know all pregnancies are different, I don't know any parents who've got through pregnancy with multiples.

you can assess the possibility by the hcg numbers. if the rise is much faster than normal that could be an indication of a twin pregnancy. try this calculator: http://www.wantbaby.info/calculators/beta-hcg-levels
if the rise is in the average range then most probably this is a singleton - symptoms are different in each pregnancy. gl

Although hcg rise can indicate multiples, it's not true for everyone. I had a doubling time with my son of 27 hours and there was just one of him.

There really is no way to know until that ultrasound, mama. And sometimes not even then. Good luck!
