How accurate are pregnancy tests that can be taken 4 days before except period?

How accurate are pregnancy tests that can be taken 4 days before expect period? I expect period tomorrow and it is negative. I'm going crazy.

I normally have a good result with them, but i know a few people including my sister who got a negative way after her expected period and was in fact pregnant. I guess it's individual and dependant on levels.

I believe it depends when implantation happens. They say 6-12 days is how long it may take (varies by person). And then you have to build hcg. My first pregnancy I got a faint positive at around 13 dpo I believe. 1 day before my missed period. Hope that helps!
