Positive OPK on Dec 16, symptoms, multiple negative HPTs, no period but positive OPK yesterday? Huh?
I have never really had regular periods. I had an IUD removed in August. they told me it might take 4-5 months for my cycle to return to 'normal'. Had a period Oct 31, then Dec 3 (which was the shortest cycle Ive had but then again Ive never kept track).
Had a few negative OPKs in Dec then Dec 16 it looked like a clear positive OPK (the test line was darker than the control line). Next day it was negative. BDed multiple times that week. Started having what felt like PMS symptoms within a week. Caught a cold around a week and a half after +OPK. I rarely get colds. But heard it can happen around implantation/early pregnancy. Have had a weird low back pain/pressure these last few weeks. Symptoms are different than my regular PMS. Ive had multiple negative HPTs. Yesterday out of curiosity I tried another OPK and got a + with a super dark test line. Last few days my boobs are bigger,moody, back pressure and cramps. Could it be that I didnt O around Dec 16? Why the PMS symptoms?

I tested positive on an OPK for about a week before my HPT came back positive. I was shocked because with my first child I got a positive hpt at 9dpo. With my second I didn't even know I was pregnant but the constant super dark positive opks were a red flag.
Or you could have geared up to O and didn't and now your body is trying to O. Either way I would continue using the OPKs and do an HPT in a week or so. Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I wondered if maybe I didnt actually O in mid December... but then why all the PMS-type symptoms if I had not? Know what I mean? I did read about a lot of women, like you, who experienced positive OPKs before a positive HPT. Im hopeful but Ive seen so many BFNs the last week that Im afraid to get my hopes up. But say I did ovulate a few weeks back.. would it be normal to get a + OPK right before AF? I have cramps (and have for a few weeks) that make me feel like she's coming... have even had increased CM to the point that I have checked expecting to see blood. I have no patience to start with and the more the days go by, the more I see that window of hope closing and I keep thinking I should have gotten a positive by now if I were in fact pregnant. I have no real idea if AF is actually late or not..but I was hopeful when I had periods Oct 31 and Dec 3 that maybe things were now going to be relatively regular,which the positive OPK Dec 16 supported.
