Should I class 5 days of spotting as my period?

Hi ladies so my period was due on the 9th December. A week before this i had spotting which varied from pink to brown this lasted for 5 days I didn't have any cramps and the spotting was only there when I wiped. On the 9th which was when period was due I had what I can only describe as watery pink blood no clotting like the usual period. I also did a pregnancy test 2 days ago which was negative. Should I call this my period or is it possible I could be pregnant? Any advice would be highly appreciated.
