Can I ovulate without any changes in CM?

Hello, this is my first cycle TTC. I wasn't having my period during the last two years (since coming off the pill after using it for 8 years), so my doctor put me on provera to induce bleeding and then on clomid days 5-9. Today is my 17CD and I am wondering if I ovulated. I am using OPKs and Fertile Focus saliva microscope. On CD 10-14 the microscope was showing spots and ferns, which should be "transitional". The test line on OPK was lighter than the control line. On CD 15 the microscope was showing almost all ferns, which should be a sign of ovulation. Also, I was feeling some pain in my left ovary for 2-3 hours and my heart was pounding like crazy. The next morning OPK was showing both lines the same color and it has been like that until today (CD 18). The microscope is no longer showing any ferns.
Is it possible I ovulated on CD 15/CD 16 without any changes in CM or breast tenderness? Next month I will definitely do a monitored cycle, this is pointless.
