Can late ovulation cause period to be late?
Ok I have read both that late ovulation can and cannot cause your period to be late. I miscarried last month at 5w 1d on October 25 so I counted that day as cd1. I use opk's and usually (I have a regular 29 day cycle) ovulate cd 15 this cycle however I ovulated on cd 20 (November 13) which it putting me at 2 days late but bfn. I got my positive in September at 14dpo. Anyone have this happen and get a bfp?

Sorry for your loss. The first cycle after a miscarriage is often very messed up and can be shorter or longer than normal. The second and beyond is usually more normal but sometimes it can take several cycles to normalize.
Yes if you ovulate later than normal your period will be later. You LP generally stays about the same with + or - a day or two. So if your normal cycle were 30 days and you generally ovulated on cd 16 and had a 14 day lp, but one month you didn't ovulate till cd 20 your cycle may now go to 34 days instead of 20 because your lp will remain close to the same.

Usually your luteal phase is the same regardless of how long your cycle is. For example, mine is always 14 days, so 14 days after I ovulate, I get my period. Sometimes I ovulate on day 16, sometimes on day 18, but 14 days later, I get my period. Most lps are 12-16 days long. So if you ovulate late, you will likely get a late period.
