Question

Would a test window show blue dye if it DIDN'T detect hCG?

Ok, I know we hate blue dye tests. I KNOW we do...

I took a test with SMU and within 2 minutes blue dye blurred across the area where a positive line would occur. That's never happened to me before, personally, though a day of googling confirms it has happened to others.

My question is, *why* would blue dye show up at all in that window if there wasn't hCG to detect in the first place?

I'm 10 DPO I think. I tested with a Dollar Store test again this evening, and it's negative. I have been drinking a lot of water today. I'll test again in the morning.

It's just WEIRD.

I had a test do that to me a few days ago; the whole test result window was blue. It didn't fade until about 8 hours later and then that revealed a BFN. I think I had a faulty test, which blue dyes are definitely known for unfortunately, but I think its safe to say that if the blue doesn't stay, its a BFN and if it does, BFP.
