What cycle day am I on?

So I started spotting Monday on CD29 and I started to fully bleed yesterday on CD 31. I am taking clomid this cycle and I have to take it on CD 5-9 and I'm wondering if I should count the spotting as CD 1 or the day I started blessing?

I've heard you should count the first day of your cycle when you start to fully bleed. Hope this helps a little.
