I recommend getting an advanced OPK (has three levels instead of two) and basing it off of that. If you start having sex the first day it says "high" through the day after you get "peak," your odds are as good as they can be. You may not get great results starting the tests this late in the cycle, but since yours seem to be longer than 28 days, it doesn't hurt to try.

I would start using opks on cd 10 or 12, it's only a 4 to 5 day difference in your cycle start dates. Honestly, just have intercourse every other day to cover your bases. If that's not possible, watch your cm very closely. The minute that I see clear, slippery cm down there, I know I'm getting close to ovulation . Close meaning within the next 3-5 days, and I make sure I cover my bases until the cm changes. When estrogen surges in your body ,that's when you see the clear or ewcm. Once I ovulate, my cm turns to a lotion like cm. Very easy to know when I'm not fertile anymore! This month, as soon as I seen fertile cm we bd everyday until it was gone. Every other day would work as well.
