How to keep a pregnancy after two miscarriages in a row?
Well, I got excited too soon. I had a miscarriage in May and got my second positive on August 13. Had BhCG drawn 8/15 and it had declined from 24 to 18 on 8/17. I'm beyond devastated. I'm 26 and have had 2 miscarriages in a row. I just switched doctors and I have an appointment on Thursday next week. My question to you ladies is what worked for your pregnancy? I've read progesterone and baby aspirin. I want to ask my doctor for testing and I'm wondering, if someone has had a similar situation, what did you do differently? This is very difficult for my husband and I. We are trying for our first baby and it's very discouraging, but we won't give up. Thank you in advance. I'd love to hear your story.

Hello again. From my own personal experience there is nothing I did different. My husband and I tried for a year until it finally happened. That one ended in a miscarriage. After another year we got pregnant again, and I got my beautiful daughter. We started trying again a few months ago, and got pregnant last month, which as you know ended in a miscarriage again. As far as I know, there is no rhyme or reason for why the second pregnancy worked out but the first and third did not.

There's nothing to lose by trying progesterone.
Typically, doctors require 3 losses before they will order a RPL panel - but speak with your doctor and perhaps he or she will order one for you that may turn up some answers (for example, there are many immune issues that are easily addressed). Good luck!

Baby aspirin can do more harm than good. It's only going to help if you have a clotting disorder. Studies show that taking aspirin, even baby aspirin, increases the risk of bleeding during pregnancy. So I'd say that unless you know you have a clotting disorder to skip the aspirin. My RE put me on baby aspirin because I'm homozygous MTHFR with elevated ANA and I have antiphosolipid symdrome. The first cycle I took it I had seriously delayed ovulation and a lot of random spotting throughout my cycle that I never really get. The second cycle my RE started me on Clomid to prevent about 50 day cycle and to hopefully boost my progesterone in my luteal phase since it came back really low.
My advice would be to ask your doctor for an RPL panel if cost isn't an issue. My RPL panel was about $1,100. You don't know what to treat till you know what is wrong.
I hope you get your rainbow baby soon. <3

Cost is not an issue. My husband and I both work in health care and have great insurance, so I'm definitely hoping for some sort of testing. My mother also had multiple miscarriages and I am her only child, so I'm wondering if it could be hereditary. I'll definitely bring all of this up at my doctors appointment. Do doctors prescribe clomid even if you have become pregnant before? That's good to know. I also want to add that my temps stay the same after ovulation. I got pregnant this month, therefore ovulated, but my temps never went higher. Another reason I'm leaning towards a progesterone issue. Thank you all for your input. I really appreciate it.
