Question

Repeated Chemical Pregnancies?

Hello all. I'm very frustrated. Bit of background first... I was married and already have two beautiful boys (had them young and unplanned but they were very much wanted nonetheless). Towards the end of my marriage I had an abortion - it seemed unfair to bring another child into that.
I am now with a new partner and have been for three years. He doesn't have any children of his own but would like one. We've been trying since January (I've never had to try before!) And I've had a chemical pregnancy, an early miscarriage, and now what looks like another chemical... had two faint frer positives earlier this week and this morning a negative. AF still a no show
I am so frustrated. I know a lot of you on here have been trying for years so I feel kind of silly complaining but is it normal? To have 3 failed pregnancies in such a short period of time? My doctor says not to worry and if after a whole year we've still been unsuccessful to come back. Do you think my abortion did something?

First of all I'm so very sorry for your losses. :( Lots of hugs. Be kind to yourself. Do whatever you need to do and take as long as you need to grieve.

I've had 1 early loss at 6w4d and 3 chemical pregnancies in a row. I've also had 0 successful pregnancies, ever.

I recently started seeing a reproductive endocrinologist to start infertility/recurrent pregnancy loss testing since my husband and I have been TTC for 18 months. My RE told me that the *most likely* problem is either a hormone imbalance such as low progesterone after ovulation, or a genetic issue.

The reason I included my history is because it seems we're in pretty similar situations with the exception of your living children. So it's possible that you've developed a hormone imbalance since they were born. It's also possible that your current parent has some genetic problem that is making it difficult.

I know high DNA fragmentation in sperm can cause RPL so maybe have him do a SA.

Hopefully that helps. :/

Thanks - and good luck to you.
I've had my hormone levels checked and I'm fine. Perhaps it's time to approach my partner re having him checked :/
