Question

Has anyone dealt with low HCG levels?

I took 8 at home pregnancy tests 4 were negative and 4 were very faint positive. I went to hospital got blood test and my doctor said it is positive but my HCG levels are very low. I have to take a test in 48 hours again and they're supposed to double. Has anyone dealt with this and it turn out to be a normal pregnancy? I'm very afraid of miscarriage

Initial levels don't mean a lot especially if you're not sure when you ovulated. I mean if you ovulated later than normal you could be 8DPO instead of 14DPO, for example. And what might be "low" later on could be totally normal for the stage you're at.

The most important thing early on is the doubling time. If hCG is doubling appropriately everything is probably just fine.

Hopefully you'll get some good news!

Thank you! That seems to ease my worrying. Tomorrow I go back to do the second blood test so we will definitely find out then.

Im in the same situation except my dr doesn't want to do the second beta in 48 hours. On Monday beta was 10, today I should have gotten the second test. Dr says since beta was so low, to wait a while before testing again. I'm going crazy!
