Is there any correlation between high prolactin levels and AMH blood test?
I am 40 years old and no children yet. I have been with the same guy for 3.5yrs with no birth control and have not conceived. My clock is ticking so I went to a fertility specialist last month. He told me they would do a blood test to test my egg quality called AMH (anti mullerian hormone). He stated that if the results were .5 or below I was pretty much done and my eggs were no good. The results came back at .23 but I had elevated prolactin levels. The Dr put me on bromocriptine for 4 mo and wants to check AMH after that. I can't find anything that says decreasing prolactin will improve egg quality. Does anyone have any expertise in this? I am hoping it will but fearful I am too old now and my dreams of having a baby are over ????

I'm sorry. :( What a horrible limbo to be in! You may want to call the office and ask to speak with your doctor and then see if he can explain things to you. I know sometimes when I see my RE I forget to ask questions because I'm just so overwhelmed at the time and then I end up needing to call and ask about things when I'm able to collect my thoughts later at home.
I don't really know much about elevated prolactin and any correlation with AMH. So I can't really help there. Sorry. :(
If your eggs aren't good could you still do IVF with donor eggs? I know some ladies who are going that route to have children. I know that wouldn't be an ideal situation by any means. :(
