Question

Trying to understand ovulation time with IUI?

I have PCOS(I'm on Metformin, ASA, Dexamethasone), My husbands Sperm is perfect and I'm just trying to understand this whole process. I had my period of June 11th. On days 4-8 I took 7.5mg of Femara. I went in on day 12 which was June 22nd to have an ultrasound, I had to follicles size 15mm and 17mm. I went back to RE on June 25th and had an IUI. I am now in my TWW and 13 days PIUI, although I don't feel as though it worked. When I put my information in the ovulation calculators it says I should have ovulated on July 4th. So would my IUI possibly have been done too early?

Did you have a trigger shot? Were you using OPKs or did they run blood to check your LH levels? Meds can change your cycle so putting your normal info into an ovulation app might not give you an accurate reading (ie: when I took Clomid I ovulated 3-4 days sooner than I normally would and it lengthened my LP by 4 days). Follicles usually grow 1-2mm per day and most clinics (I think) like them to be around 18-20mm - so based on that your follicle sizing was right around where it should be on Jun 25... Did you go for a blood draw afterwards (around 7dpo) to test progesterone to ensure ovulation?

No I did not have a trigger shot and no I did not use OPK's. They did run blood work before I started the Femara which is why they put me on daily Dexamethasone. I did not have any other blood work done after that though. I had my IUI and now am just waiting to either take a pregnancy test or for AF to come.
