Question

Omega 3 too much?

I'm current waiting to do my second attempt of FET embryo adoption.
In the meantime DH and are trying naturally and I'm taking Coq10 with Omega 3 to help with egg quality. And taking them together is supposedly it helps with the absorption or the Coq10.
I just realized that my prenatal vitamins had DHA/omega 3. Could I be taking too much of Omega 3?

I take Coq10 is 300mg and 1 pill of Omega Pure Alaska Omega Wild Salmon Oil 1,000 mg

But also in prenatal vitamin I take Nature Made Prenatal Multi + Omega fatty acid 228mg
DHA Provides 200 mg DHA

I take thyroid meds right when I get up and don't eat anything for an our. I also take Vitamin D, Iron pills, and baby aspirin.

Could I be taking too much of Omega 3? Any help would be great. Thank you.

Nah, ur fine! I would consider increasing the CoQ10 to 600mg over 2-3 doses/day or if u can afford to take the price increase, ditch CoQ10 and go straight to Ubiquinol. U take that at half the dose of CoQ and it's is better absorbed by the body. Also, not sure when ur taking these pills, but make sure they go down with or shortly after a meal, preferably a fatty one. Keep large doses of vitamins/supplements separate, so they don't compete.
Good luck! =))

That's cool. Thank you. :) I normally will take the Coq10 with omega 3 and vit D before my lunch. And before dinner I will take Baby aspirin, prenatal vit with DHA, and before bed I will take my iron pill.

If I was to increase coq10 would you suggest taking the second pill at dinner? Also when should i stop taking Coq10 and omega 3?

U can take the other dose at dinner if u want. As long as there's a cpl hrs between doses, u could take one with breakfast and one 2-3hrs later with a yogourt or something with fat. It doesn't have to be a full meal, just something for the oils to be absorbed with. U will benefit more from high doses being broken up.
U shouldn't need to stop the Omega's at all, that's actually beneficial while pregnant (baby brain development etc.) the CoQ should be stopped when they do the fet tho. That's not something that has been thoroughly tested while pregnant, so it's advised to stop as soon as O/et are done.

Your kidneys will eliminate the extra but a doctor should be able to tell you if there is any conflict with your thyroid issue. I'm no expert in matching them. I agree with Dakotagurrl that natural sources are best. Try nuts, avocado, fruits and veggies (incl carrots). Good luck!

Thank you, I will have to ask my endocrinologist. And she may want to do blood work earlier then schedule. I'm not due until August. Thank for your help.
