Ovulating Every Other Month

I have tracked my cycle for nearly two years. I started OKP to avoid pregnancy before we were married and I noticed I would ovulate every other month as far as getting an LH surge. I am now 8 months post partum with 42 day average cycles (still EBF) and again ovulating every other month. We conceived fairly easily with our first and have been trying my last 3 cycles. Any advice? Any clue why this happens?
