Question

Brown Discharge at 5 weeks?!?!

This morning at 3:30am I went to go urinate and saw some brown discharge and only saw it for two wipes. I had sex prior to falling asleep. That's the only time I saw it. Should I be worried? Did an orgasm trigger old blood to come out? This is my first pregnancy so I'm not exactly sure. I'm just really concerned but I don't wanna stress over nothing. Please help!

You need to call your doctor and let him/her know. A little spotting in pregnancy can be totally fine and normal. It definitely isn't always a bad sign. But it can be. And anytime you have any spotting/bleeding during pregnancy you really need to let your doctor know.

If you aren't still bleeding and you're not having cramping then everything is probably fine. I'd definitely try not to worry.

Hopefully everything is just fine.

I talked to a nurse today and she told me that light spotting early on is completely normal, especially following intercouse. The penis can penetrate the cervix, and it is the cervix that may bleed a little - NOT the uterus. She also said some light cramping may be normal in early pregnancy. The only time to worry is when cramping and bleeding are occurring at the same time. She said intercourse is absolutely fine, just be "gentle." Hope this helps :)
