Conflicting Ovulation Period Estimates
Hi all, I am new to this process. I've had 2 post-birth control periods (I just had the 2nd a few days ago). The time between put me at 32 day cycle. I know I need more cycles and data to determine, but I'm getting conflicting fertile timeframes. When plugging in a 32 day cycle, this site puts ovulation from 5/25-5/30. My Kindara app says 5/28-6/1. Do I just test everyday from 5/25-6/1?!?! Why are the estimations so different?! TIA and baby dust to all!

Estimators are so different because some base predictions off the cycle length you enter and others go off the out dated assumption that all women always ovulate on CD14. If you took 100 women and looked at when they ovulate there would be less ladies ovulating on CD14 than ladies ovulating on a day other than CD14. Because of this I always advise against using ovulation predictors that don't work off interpretations of fertility data.
I'd strongly recommend reading the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and getting a basal body thermometer to start temping. I personally really like the Mabis. It's really cheap and I've never had trouble with it. If you're temping you'll know if/when you ovulated and then you'll know when to expect your period. It takes so much of the guess work out of TTC.

Thanks for the help. I have been charting my BBT (with a Mabis thermometer!) It's been somewhat helpful, but I know it takes a few months' data to see a pattern. I have a 32 day cycle (so far) so I'm not likely not on a 14 day O cycle. I'm charting, but also want to take advantage of each month :) My husband is gone all week for a work training and only home on the weekends for the next 4 months (AND is scheduled to deploy in Jan/Feb for 6-9 months) so I'm just anxious! :) Thanks for the reply!
