Question

ALWAYS A SECOND LINE WITH FIRST RESPONSE EARLY RESULT TEST EVEN WHEN BFN?

AF is now nearly 2 weeks late and over the last two weeks I have had mixed HPT test results - digitals are negative. The only tests which have had a BFP on and its very faint are the FRER tests - although the line has never got stronger. But nearly all the FRER tests I have done appear to have 2 lines (not sure whether all have colour). Do the FRER have a second line even when negative where a positive would go if the test was positive?

Hi, a positive test result on a Frer is one in which the colour of the second line is pink and obvious. Especially at 2 weeks late the line should come up immediately and be dark pink. Look at the positive test gallery on this site to see some strong bfps. Look at ones at 14-18 dpo. That should give you an idea of what your test should look like. I think there might be a colourless line on the test even when negative as the urine passes over the point where the coloured line would be if there was hcg. If there is hcg the line turns pink and is visible. But a colourless line is definitely negative. Good luck!
