Question

Can a faint line mean I am pregnant? Can all test be the same every morning?

On April 27 I took a First Response Pregnancy Test to see if I am pregnant, but i just only saw a very faint line on the "T" line. So I decided to take a pregnancy test the next two morning and it shows very faint same as the first day I took a test. Can pregnancy be different every morning?

It is a little concerning that the test line isn't getting any darker at all. hCG should double every 24-48 hours so the line should start to darken. However, some tests have more dye than others and therefor have darker lines. If your urine was less concentrated the last couple of times you tested that could yield a fainter line than if it had been more concentrated. I wouldn't be too worried at this point.

Pregnancy tests are also binary. They're designed to give a yes/no answer. They're not really designed to measure the amount of hCG in your system beyond what is needed to turn a positive test. If you're worried about the lines not darkening you may want to call your doctor and discuss it with him/her. Your doctor could order a beta test to check your hCG levels if he/she feels there is reason to be concerned.

Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months.
