Well just knowing the first date of your period no one can tell you when you will ovulate as you haven't even mentioned how long your cycle is. Even knowing length of cycle different women will ovulate at different times and can have the same cycle length. In a standard textbook style cycle of 28 days a women will ovulate around day 14. So if you tried between day 10 and day 20 you should have it covered. The best way to find out when you ovulate is to buy an ovulation test. If you don't want to pay for an ovulation kit then the other thing you could do is to start trying soon after your period ends, every day or every alternate day till the end of your cycle. That way when ever you ovulate there should be some sperm around to fertilise the egg. Good luck!
