Question for those who experience premenstrual spotting

Hello everyone. If you experience spotting for a day or two (or more) before your period, I was wondering: have you ever had a cycle where you didn't have the spotting?

The reason I ask is because I always spot daily starting 3-4 days before my period. This cycle I've had only creamy CM during the days leading up to my expected period. Because of the lack of spotting, I was fairly sure we were successful this cycle, but my period seems to have shown up this morning right on schedule. I also had a BFN as of yesterday afternoon.

I just don't understand why I would have premenstrual spotting every single cycle except for this one. The only reason I can think of is because I am pregnant, but that seems not to be the case.

Just wondering if an unusual non-spotting cycle has ever happened to anyone else who normally has pre-period spotting. If so, any idea why?
