Is it normal to go from smiley to low testing days after period ends?

I've been using the clear blue ovulation kit and I was wondering when is it a good time to start testing your fertile window? My period ended on the 24th. I started testing on the 25th,26th and 27th I had low (circle) The 28th and 29th I got a solid smiley, normally I heard you don't have to test after but I did end up testing the next day (the first) and got a low sign (circle). Is this normal? Last month i went from solid smiley for 2 days to a low, to a blinky (high). I am just confused. Should I start testing sooner? I have an app on my phone and you track the whole nine yards, from mood, symptoms, etc and even though I got a low circle today, my app says i am 8.5/10 fertility score and says my fertile window is Feb 29th to March 1. I feel like it is not adding up. If anyone has answers I would appreciate them!
