Hi there, I had a Mirena for 5 years and had it taken out November 2013. I conceived in Jan 2014 (which was amazing as I was 39 ) and went on to have a normal healthy pregnancy. My son is now 16 months. Good luck and I hope you have a healthy and happy 9?months :)

I had Paragard for 5 years and had it removed Sept. 2015. I became pregnant in Dec. 2015 but unfortunately baby didn't stick. I have read many pages though that some women have successfully had babies right after an IUD. Best of luck to you! :)

Wow! I totally understand what you're worried about. I had the Mirena for nearly 3 years and it had flipped around and embedded into my uterus, the dr never told me any details on it just that "we need to get it out right now". I was in so much pain after they fished around my uterus for what seemed like 30 minutes....she never told me any more about it. And I was in shock and never thought to ask.

This is our first month actively trying to get pregnant since that incident, so I don't have an answer for you but I do somewhat understand your worries because that is definitely in the back of my mind and I was going to ask at my next physical.
