4-5 Days Light Brown spotting before period? Is this normal?

My previously cycle was 34 days and no brown spotting whatsoever. This cycle I started with spotting cd 28. The first few days only when I wiped but now a little bit on my panties.. not enough for pad or tampon. I'm on CD 32 now - should I test or am I getting my hopes up over nothing? Any advice will be appreciated ladies!
