RE says ectopic, low & slow rising hcg, cannot find anything on tv ultrasound. 2nd guessing deci
So tomorrow I'm scheduled to get the MXT to "dissolve" my pregnancy. BFP on 1/9 and slow rising hcg. LMP was 12/9. No pain or bleeding, but doc unable to locate any sign of development anywhere. I'm worried if I don't get MXT, I'll rupture a tube making it harder to get pregnant again. I'm also worried that I'm acting too quickly and I just have a slow grower. Just need some support.

Hi anxiouslyawaiting - have you had a second ultrasound? It is normal to be concerned that they could be wrong, and my thoughts are with you during this tough time. Did they spend a good amount of time looking in the uterus for a sac? Usually there is not much to see early on but all scans I have had in early pregnancy have showed a small sac if nothing else (no heartbeat etc). Have you had any pain or bleeding? Is your doctor 100% certain that there is no sign of any pregnancy in your uterus? Hugs.

Thank you so much for your reply.
I've had 2. I think because my hcg is so low (600's), not much would be visible anyway. The first tech didn't seem so great, but the second was very good and explained everything she was looking at and explained along the way. There is even a second screen in the exam room for me to watch. No pain or bleeding so far. I guess I'm just holding on to a hope that maybe it's just earlier than thought, but the rational side of me knows the probability. I'm being seen by a fertility specialists, so I know they're watching things closely and have a wide range of experience with these things. Funny how from the moment you find out your pregnant, you work to protect that little bean. Sometimes even at the risk of yourself. It's my first pregnancy and DH and I have been trying for a long time. Just having a hard time dealing....

The last set of numbers don't look like they are doubling like they should be. I'm sorry that you have to experience this. I would imagine your doctor knows what they are talking about and that this is the best option for you right now in your ttc journey. You have every right to feel upset, try not to lose hope. Praying for you and a heathy pregnancy in the very near future. Please feel free to message me if you ever would likes sometime to talk to or discuss anything. Hugs

I'm sure I have read somewhere that sometimes in early pregnancy numbers can take 72ish hours to double. It's so hard to say what is normal and what is not as so many women don't even realise they have a pregnancy at this stage. Because you have hcg and it is rising I want to say there is still hope. But the doctors /specialists know what they are taking about too. Sorry I can't help more

Hi anxiously waiting, so sorry to hear of your difficult time. Just wanted to check how you're doing as I realise you'll have had your appt. I recently experienced an ectopic and understand how confusing the situation can be. Please feel free to message me if you want. Also the ectopic trust website is really helpful. All the best x
