Question

Is this a miscarriage?

My period typically begins on CD 26. It is very short, light, and uneventful. I spot on CD 26. CD 1 is medium flow, CDs 2 and 3 are light and then CD 4 I am wearing a panty liner for any remaining spotting. This cycle, however, started off odd. I started to spot on CD 26 and again on CD 27 (very light- not even worthy of a panty liner). I then started experiencing terrible cramps on CD 28 followed by four days of cramping and heavy bleeding. I never bleed this long and certainly not this heavy. Also, cramping happens before my period, but never during. Do you feel this is an early miscarriage or just a weird period. My breasts never hurt (like a normal pregnancy for me). Even though news of a miscarriage would be sad, it would also be good news as we have been struggling with getting pregnant for the past 4 years (secondary infertility). I am 38, so this could also be the beginning of "the change". Thanks for your thoughts!
