Question

I am about 5 days late, I have vaginal discharge, and negative pregnancy test.

Hello,
I have a 7 month old, I am 29 years old. I have had excessive vaginal discharge, and I am 5 days late on my period. I have taken about 4 pregnancy tests. 2 before my missed period, one the day of and one at 4 days late. They all show up negative. What could be the problem?

It's most likely nothing out of the ordinary. You just had a baby 7 months ago, so your body is still readjusting. Maybe you ovulated late? If you're breastfeeding, that causes late/no ovulation and wacky cycles for some women. Some who BF don't get cycles at all until they begin to wean baby off.

If this doesn't ease your concerns, you may want to see your doctor. Usually, there's no cause for alarm unless you go three months or more without a cycle, but many MD's understand that having a monthly cycle is reassuring for many women. They may offer BCPs or other hormonal contraceptives to "regulate" you if you want.

Hope this helps and congrats on your baby!
