Question

Anyone else felt the same ?

So I am pregnant again for the 2nd time and terrified my last pregnancy was a chemical my tests where all faint and it ended before 5 weeks. I'm so worried it is going to happen again I have had my bloods done every 2 days and they have gone from 633,1422,2522 and had a internal scan at around 5 weeks the sac and yolk where seen in the right place and measuring at 5 weeks but no baby I am going back in for a scan at 7 weeks to hopefully find the heartbeat and baby but I'm terrified it's not going to be their I keep telling myself I'm young (21) healthy bmi , no illness , no medical conditions , don't drink smoke I'm at low risk but I just can't enjoy my pregnancy , I Panick if one day my boobs hurt less , every time I go to the toilet I'm checking I haven't bled and I'm upsetting my partner because he is keen to talk about the baby and I just refuse to because I believe it will happen again anyone else gone through this does it get better ? I'm driving myself mad :(

I understand the feeling. It's normal. I had a miscarriage in April, and when I got pregnant again in June, I was petrified. Every twinge, every spasm, I thought it was happening again.

Seeing the heartbeat helps, because then you know your baby is alive. I'm 24 weeks now, and can say it does get better. Especially when the baby starts moving and you can feel the movements. It's like a constant reassurance that the baby is there and growing.

Hang in there. It does get better. Talk about your fears with your partner. My husband was surprisingly supportive when I explained I didn't want to get too attached to our baby incase I lost this one, too. Congrats on yout pregnancy.

My cousin had an ultrasound around 5 weeks and it didn't show a heartbeat because it was too early. Her HCG levels kept rising though and she is doing great now.

Here is my story and I hope it helps you. With my first, I had a positive HPT and had made my appointment to see a ob/gyn. I began spotting and went to the hospital. There, they did a test, showed i was indeed pregnant and then sent me for a scan. I was five weeks at the time but they did not see a baby. They told me that i had a blighted ovum and had to get a D&C. They arranged for me to see a doc to perform the D&C. I went to the appointment. They gave me a scan before the procedure and the tech left the room and left me alone. i was confused. the doc poked his head in the room and said, "We cant have a D&C today" i was confused. He continued, "We cant do a D&C because you're pregnant". My "blighted ovum" is now 20 years old and in college. Don't give up! Good luck, hun!

Like ToriNBrian said, I definitely understand your worry. I think it's perfectly normal to be worried during pregnancy especially after a loss.

You may find it helpful to move over to the sister site countdownMYpregnancy.com. I'm only saying this because many women on here are still TTC#1 and therefor can't really relate or give you advice. On a site for pregnant ladies you'd likely have better support (and better advice and such) from ladies who are currently going through all the same things you are. As much as I'm sure all the ladies here would want to be there for you at some point you'll encounter situations with pregnancy that many of us have just never made it to encountering yet. However, all that being said you should do what makes you happy and what you feel comfortable with. If you're be more happy and comfortable here you should stay. :)

Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months with a healthy, beautiful take-home baby to show for it!
