The number of mature eggs increases your chances to some extent but egg quality is another question. 1 excellent egg is preferred over several poor quality ones. I have done 30 + Femara and injections cycles, 16 IUIs in the last 2 years, usually 1 or 2 eggs. On 3 occasions I had 3 mature eggs. Results so far (due to age) I miscarriage at 9 weeks and 2 chemical pregnancies. This clearly shows that age and egg quality - not just amount of mature follicles - play a major role when it comes to conceiving relatively quickly or not. Wishing you best of luck!

Thanks so much for the insight.. I was told that the 4 follicles were very mature. Doctor said it was to be expected especially because I'm so young. The only reason that I'm going this route is because I am in a same sex marriage.. Otherwise, I doubt that It would take this long for me to conceive. After the ultrasound, doc informed me that I could possibly have multiples if I were to get pregnant this cycle. I'm praying for the best but don't want to get too excited. All in all I would be highly grateful for just one kid but I welcome whatever God wants me to have. Much appreciated.

I did folistem and iui and made 4 mature follicles on the right and 5 not as mature ones on the left. Doc said one or two of the bigger ones on the left could ovulate but the 4 mature ones on the right would definitely ovulate. Long story short I'm finally pregnant after almost 2 years of trying and taking just about every medication there is! I don't know how many are in there yet because my first ultra sound isn't until next week. Good luck and prayers to you! God is always faithful!

@ LBTheo1030 - You just gave me an ounce of hope! this is my 18th attempt in 2 years! However this is my first cycle taking femara, folistem, and ovidrel! Im also taking endometrin to assist with my lining. I am praying that I get at least one healthy baby from the 4 mature eggs.. The pressure that's on me feels like a ton of bricks.. My partner got pregnant on her 2nd try and now we have a beautiful 6 year old daughter. She wants a sibling so bad and I just feel bad that its taking me so long to add to our family. Sometimes I just want to give up but there's always that ounce of hope that makes you want to proceed accordingly. I am scheduled to take a blood test on Monday (11/23) and I'm so nervous. I don't feel anything; no cramping, sore boobs, etc.. So I'm afraid that nothings happening.. Did you have any symptoms?
