What is my cycle after mc?

after a positive test last week I started to bleed, not particularly heavy nor painful and I was hopeful that everything would be ok. The doctor has now confirmed with a blood test that I have lost the pregnancy. They said I may start to bleed again more heavily and perhaps pass some clots then again I may not. I would like to know what I should expect based on other peoples experience and do I mark the first day that I started bleeding as a new cycle? Thank you

Hi there, I'm so sorry xx From my experience the bleed you are experiencing is the miscarriage bleed, so wait for that to finish, then start counting your cycle from the next one - if that makes sense? xx

Thanks for answering, I know it was very early in the pregnancy but it still feels very sad. Its nice to feel that there are other people that know what its like.

Hi there, sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage on the 9th October. Mine started with spotting for two days and then I had some pretty nasty cramping and backache and later that evening I had very heavy bleeding and passed very large clots. The bleeding lasted for 7 days but was only heavy for a couple of days at the beginning. I ovulated quite late CD 21 and was late getting my next period CD36 (if I counted the first day of spotting as CD1) This period I just had was quite light and short so I'm hoping I'll ovulate this cycle and will start using OPK's from CD11.
