Period shortened to one day, help what can possibly be causing this

Ok so on sept 27 I got my period which lasted approximately 3 days and it was fairly light I started spotting on the 25 for two days before AF showed up on the 27, then this month I spotted for two days before AF (AF Oct 26) again but my period only lasted maybe a day and a half and it was very light no clots and by day two there was no more blood. Today it's been 7 days since my period ended and I decided to put my fingers inside because it felt very wet, well after I put my fingers in and took them out normal CM came out, then I did it again and this time touching my cervix but a brownish/sort of blood mix CM came out. For the record before these two periods my periods where normal 4-5 day periods with way more blood than these past two months and with some clots, I'm confused as to why my period has shortened, I do have an active sex life using the pull out method
