E-cigarettes n pregnancy.... Is it safe?
Ok ladies... I need some help. I'm hoping to conceive and want to cut down/ quit smoking. Are e-cigarettes worth a shot? I've not really tried them out before and after all the hype about them being just as dangerous as normal cigarettes, I'd like some idea.
I have 2 children already and I know they would like me to quit too. Any help would be great ????

My husband tried the e-cigarette and they did nothing for him. If ur not already pregnant and can wait 12 wks to get preg, I would suggest Chantix. Or u can wait til ur preg and just quit cold turkey. It's hard regardless, but only for the first cpl wks, then it gets easier.
I quit cold turkey, after 10yrs, when I got preg with my son. Not gonna lie, it was hard as f*ck. I spent a lot of time crying, but was determined not to feed my baby the crap in cigarettes. I started up again a few days after he was born (dumbest decision ever), and quit again 7 yrs later. That time I used Champix (Canada's name for Chantix) and altho still a bit hard to break the habit, the tears and loss of control/sanity feeling weren't there. Haven't looked back since. Quitting is one of the best decisions u will ever make for urself...and ur family. Ur babies NEED their mama!!
Good luck! U CAN do it!! =))

I used an e cigarette to quit smoking 3 years ago, and honestly, it was the easiest thing I've ever done! I had tried to quit at least 10 times before, with both previous pregnancies, I quit for part of them, and it was always horrible and excruciating!! I was a hard core smoker for 20 yrs, pack a day, first thing in the morning, last thing at night, panic if you only have half a pack left kind of smoker. I got an e cigarette one night, smoked my last cigarette and that was it, I haven't touched one since and never think about it now. I spent 18 mths using an e cigarette, weaning down off the nicotine, till I was at 0mg, then the desire to use it naturally went away since the addiction factor was no longer there. I had researched them extensively, and found that they are far safer than smoking, especially since it was helping me quit, not just perpetuating the habit. Now 3 years later, I have no cravings, and never think about smoking at all, even around smokers. I highly recommend it!

Just wanted to add if you are going to try it, that I highly recommend using ONLY the e cigarette, not just trying to replace some at a time. I've know several people who tried to wean off cigarettes to the e-cigarette slowly and none of them were successful because the draw to smoke was always stronger. The first couple weeks are a little tough, but you will quickly adjust to the e-cigarette and I ended up preferring it to smoking (all of the good, with none of the bad! No fire, no ashes, no smelly clothes and fingers, no cancer!). Everyone I know who has gone to the e-cigarette exclusively right away has been successful in quitting long term. Good Luck!!!

Actually the e cig is not the best option. Getting a vapor is actually the best route for you. With an e cig you can really control the nicotine as well as with a vapor. Plus with a vapor there are so many different tasty flavors to choose from. Different levels of nicotine and without nicotine. I used an e cig and got sick from it and always had sore throats. Make sure that you go to an actually vapor shop and not a gas station. Good luck, I wish you the best!!!
