when to expect my period after surgical management of miscarriage
Hi, I had a mmc last month and had surgical management (d&c) on 11th August. This is 5 weeks ago and no sign of my period. I have tested and go bfn. so I'm not pregnant, when would i expect my period? x

Hi, sorry for your loss :( I had a mmc at 11 weeks but baby measured 7 weeks, so I too had to have a d&c. My period arrived 6 weeks after surgery. I think your period starts again once you hormone levels have gone back down to 0, so if you are testing negative now, then it should be soon, but it can take up to 8 weeks. Hope this helps xxxx

Hi there, I too have had losses that needed a d&c. I've had 2. My period came six weeks after the first one. Since your test is negative I would expect yours is not far away at all. With my most recent miscarriage I had to have a second d&c two weeks after the first for retained product. My period arrived three weeks after the second one (5 weeks after the first). I have really obvious ovulation symptoms tho and both times I knew I was ovulating and sure enough af arrived two weeks later. Have you noticed any ovulation signs? If you have it might help you work out when af might be coming. I'm so sorry for your loss. I felt compelled to answer as I totally understand the want for our cycles to just get back to normal after a loss. :)
