Question

Vitamins and nutrients while ttc/pregnant?

Hello! We have just begun ttc since I stopped the pill a few months ago. My doctor suggested taking a prenatal vitamin with folic acid. So I have been taking a multivitamin and a fibre supplement due to my stomach issues (celiac). I just noticed that my fibre bottle says not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. So I'm wondering: what vitamins or supplements do you take? Thanks so much!

I am taking Rainbow Lights prenatal vitamin with 800 mcg folic acid in it. Also taking a vit B complex, extra vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, fishoil, Royal Jelly, Maca, and several other supplements geared towards improving egg quality due to age factor. Best wishes.

I also have severe stomach issues (probably have celiac, but never officially diagnosed). I take Rainbow Light Prenatal One which is a food based vitamin and it doesn't affect me negatively at all. I take it first thing in the morning with no food, which I've never been able to do with any other vitamins.

Thanks for your feedback! I've been thinking of taking some fish oil capsules. I think I will look into it more.

In the U.S. , doctors recommend to take prenatal vitamins, but here in Belgium (we moved here for a few years) they only suggest taking folic acid if your blood test is fine and you don't need anything else like iron etc.
With my first pregnancy I wasn't very disciplined with vitamin intake at all. I always forgot or didn't want to because I couldn't swallow the huge capsules lol made me gag! So I made sure I ate well and that's all. The baby was born on 41 weeks and 2 days and she was the healthiest of all babies :)
Good luck!
