Question

Missed miscarriage - already almost 4 weeks after. Will it start all at once or gradually?

Found out Monday our baby had no heartbeat. At 11 weeks 3 days it only measured 8 weeks 2 days. There had been no problems whatsoever, definitely weren't expecting to see anything other than our sweet angel & hear it's perfect little heartbeat. My question is: its already been almost 4 weeks, no bleeding yet but I have had sharp pains & a couple days of horrible contractions & lost a gush of fluid.. will it start all at once? Or gradually? Chances of infection after waiting so long? I'm scared to death to go out of the house, makes it so much harder not having a clue when it'll happen.

Thank you for answering my question. 2 days after I found out I started getting sharp pains right above my pubic bone & about 2 hours after they started I lost a gush of fluid, it was almost clear like water with white specks throughout it. The next day the sharp pains started again & led to small contractions. Within an hour they turned into horrible contractions, as intense & painful as when I had my son. They went on & off throughout the rest of that day & half the next. Then no more. Still sharp pains on & off, I'm just worried that blood will start gushing any minute .. I'm afraid to go anywhere.

The same thing happened to me (4 times). However I did have one just like yours, same time frame, 11 weeks and 8 weeks the baby died. It look 2 weeks for anything to happen with that one. However with my 3rd mc it took 4 weeks. I started cramping and spotting and then clots came out. It was painful, I am not going to lie and I stayed in the tub for awhile. I would say, once the cramps and the light bleeding starts know that it will get worse quickly. I hope that helps. I think you can go out of the house...it won't all gush out at once. At least it didn't for any of mine.
