Extremely sore breasts 9dpo?

It's been 11 days since I had sex and I'm about 9dpo. My breasts are so sore to the point where it hurts to not have a bra on. I also had some slight cramping Monday and Tuesday which felt a little similar to period cramps, but not nearly as intense. Just kind of a dull feeling. My doctor did a blood test on Monday (which I was only 7dpo) and it came back negative. I talked to my step mom who is a gynecologist and she told me not to listen to the results of that because it's too early and implantation can happen later.Are sore breasts like this a sign of pregnancy? When I'm about to get my period I get sore breasts but nothing this bad and it's usually only a day before and I'm not due until between the 6th-8th. I did take a pregnancy test this morning (the 88 cent ones from walmart) and it was negative. Could I have tested too early?
