Do I count 4 days of spotting as a period and start the next cycle? (probably tmi)
Hi there! Basically I'm not sure if I should classify the spotting I had as a period and start the next cycle. I'll try to give a brief description of what I experienced.
Positive opk on 8/11. I started spotting at 11dpo, just a couple brown globs in the evening. I do normally spot before I start, so I figured I'd get full flow in a few days. 12dpo more brown and some pink during the day when I wipe. Doesn't make it to pantiliner. 13dpo I wake up and have some white discharge with some red when I wipe, but it goes back to pink then brown during the day. A couple brown drops make it to liner. Over the next day or so it fades away.
I'm now 20dpo & almost a week late. All tests have been evaps or negative so I'm pretty much ruling that out. Do I count this spotting as a period and start the next cycle?

Sorry that you have to go to this confusion :-s I guess there is a slight possibility that you're one of those women who don't test positive for a long time, but I think the most likely explanation is indeed that the brown episode was 'your period'. I once had such a 'brown period', although I think it lasted a bit longer and was a bit heavier than what you described. Anyway, time will definitely tell :-) Good luck!!!

It is definitely frustrating. But now that you mention it I do recall having a similar brown period 2 or 3 years ago so it's definitely possible. It's so sad though; the spotting was pretty much exactly what I imagined IB to be like and even around the right time. Ah well! Thanks for taking the time to respond :)
