Metformin is a common med for PCOS it helps your hormones work better in your body by regulating insulin/sugars. I asked my Doctor to put me on the extended release because it is much better on your digestive system. I had terrible diarrhea for almost 2 months after i started on it. I am on 740 mg 2 times a day also. I lost weight when I first went on it and then I went on more meds for TTC and have gained more back. Its really hard with PCOS to loose lbs and my doctor tells me to just be consistent with what you choose to do, so if you go low card then stick with it!! There is a really good website I use called PCOS Diva - she has some great articles.
