Vitex and alchemilla - shall I continue in pregnancy?
I have been taking vitex agnus castus 800 mg in the morning the past month. Before ovulation I was drinking achillea and after ovulation alchemilla tea twice daily.
I have found out yesterday that I am pregnant, (AF would be due tomorrow). I am reading that vitex can harm in pregnancy. I read controversial data about alchemilla. Some even recommend it to avoid miscarriage but others say it can harm too.
I feel confused and I am afraid that without the herbs I will lack progesterone.
I had a 5 years amenorrhea due to sports and diet with no hormones! Started again 3 months ago, this was the first month that we were trying and boom, I am pregnant!
Also, I have been taking medicine for hypothyroidism which I just stopped taking yesterday due to symptoms of overdose (pulse was 90-100) and finally I got a low fever and was sick 2 days at the time of implantation. What could be the real cause? I am supposed to meet my doctor in 10 more days. Please, give me advice, if you can.Thank you

I would stop the vitex and alchemilla, ask ur doctor if u think they're pregnancy-safe, dont rely on internet opinions when it comes to things like that. As for the thyroid meds, go to the NIH's site and look up the name of the drug, it will tell u if its safe for pregnancy or not, and they CAN be trusted. I dont think I wouldve just stopped it tho. 90-100 PR is not out of normal range, and rate does increase once pregnant. BP tends to rise a bit as well. If ur feeling uneasy about things ur taking and cant get in to see ur doctor, a pharmacist is the next best thing. Head to ur drugstore and ask the pharmacist about ur thyroid meds...I really dont think u shouldve stopped them tho, u may be creating more problems than not. Just my opinion tho.

I asked my doctor about my medication and he said I could stop if I wanted, I may start again later if it turns out I need it
Though there was no positive test by then, when we discussed it he knows our plans..
I will have fresh blood test results by Monday and I will see if they caused my problems. I will stop vitex as there is more againts it and will ask at the drug store about alchemilla that is a great idea, thank you!
