Question

Best app to chart on? So annoyed!

What's the best app to chart on? I've been using oivia fertility since January and all of a sudden its gone crazy! Its telling me my fertile window is from cycle day 6 I used opks just in case but I'm definitely not in the fertile window yet every other month up until now I ovulated cd17! Currently CD 11 and still negative opk and according to the app my fertile window finishes tomorrow! I know it's wrong and my ovulation is on its way such a shame to waste 8 months of data! But I just know it's wrong

Start taking basal temps and track on fertility friend.

I second the fertility friend and temping suggestion. I was using Ovia last year and, while the pregnancy app is pretty nice, the fertility app leaves a lot to be desired. Fertility Friend interacts with your data to help pinpoint your fertile window and can put a likely ov day on your chart with daily temping.

Temping is pretty easy. Just make sure ur taking ur temp at the same time everyday and get a minimum of 3hrs (5 is better) of solid sleep. Keep the thermometer right beside ur bed, temps need to be taken the second u wake up. No moving around, talking, drinking etc. U wake up, grab the therm and pop 'er in whichever orifice ur temping from. If ur a mouth-breather while u sleep, vaginal or rectal temps would be more accurate. Also, alcohol can alter the temp, as can fans, open windows, ac and wearing less/more pjs/blankets to bed. Try to keep everything the same, as much as possible. FF has some good tips etc in their FAQ.
Good luck and welcome to ur new addiction! =))

I always keep my thermometer under my pillow and my phone by the bed. As soon as I wake up, I grab the thermometer (one with a lighted display is convenient if it's dark in your bedroom) and then immediately log it. As dakotagurrl said, temping at the same is important. If you're more than a half hour off your regular time either way, FF will automatically flag that temp as being one to disregard. I was able to just take my temp orally with consistent results. I will continue to temp even when my ttc days are long gone because it is so empowering to know what's going on with my cycle and what to expect from ov and AF. I much prefer it to hormonal birth control.
