Question

Could I be pregnant? (part 2)

This is part 2 of my previous question.

I read somewhere that healthy couples only have a 20-25% chance each month to get pregnant. It's been 5 days since we had sex and I'm extremely dizzy and nauseated and having bad gas. Could a rise in progesterone in early pregnancy before implantation cause these symptoms? I'm so confused.

You definitely have a chance of getting pregnant. You can also get pregnant with the "pulling out" method. Sperm are also present in pre-ejaculate. If you are not trying to get pregnant I suggest you get on a birth control method or use condoms.

Yes, there is only a 20ish percent chance of getting pregnant each cycle, with perfect timing. And yes, rising progesterone levels can cause all kinds of symptoms that are similar to pregnancy. Its not a guaranty that ur pregnant.

There are no hormonal changes until after implantation which happens 6-12 days after conception (ovulation) so I think your symptoms are likely to be something else (psychosomatic perhaps?)
But yes you have a chance - 23% is the number I remember hearing but don't quote me

I disagree that there are no hormonal changes until after implantation. Progesterone surges with the release of your egg with or without fertilization and implantation. Often, this surge can cause symptoms that are very similar to early pregnancy symptoms (nausea, breast tenderness, sleep disruption, etc). So, you could legitimately be experiencing "symptoms," but they're not necessarily pregnancy symptoms. Your positive opk's could be misleading as some women have prolonged lh surges or even a second lh surge during the luteal phase. So, the difficult truth is that "waiting it out" is all you can really do. I don't know when I ov'd, but do know I got my first bfaintp 9 days after Dh and I dtd, so you can possibly start testing soon depending on your own factors.

Update: today I'm extremely tired and having really bad dizzy spells and headaches. The headaches/dizzy spells are coming and going but my head and ears feel like they have pressure in them. I don't know if those are symptoms or not.

Honestly the symptoms you listed in your update sound more like a possible sinus or ear infection than pregnancy. Anything is possible, but I wouldn't worry over much til AF doesn't show up or you get two pink lines.
