I took it three cycles. Still no baby for me.... I really think it did a number on my lining. By the third month my period was only a day long. I recommend asking if they could prescribe an estrogen to thicken the lining while on it. My side effects were minimal. It did make me think I was preggo every month on it bc my progesterone was higher and with that comes similar symptoms of pregnancy.

If you don't mind me asking, we're your cycles regular before taking Clomid? And if they weren't, did it help to regulate them. I just hate when my cycles are like 44 days so I have to wait Almost double the time someone with a normal cycle would to take a test.

I don't think the clomid regulated them. I also had a high free T lab result along with another elevated male hormone. I had no cysts on my overies, but they thought I may have a mild case of pcos. So they put me on metformin... that is what gave me a 29 day cycle compared to sometimes 34 days.... I would see what your doc says about giving you the metformin with the clomid. It's a very common combination.

I am currently in the TWW after my second round of clomid. The first round resulted in some very large ovarian cysts that had to be surgically removed. I have some similar symptoms right now as I did then but my doctor told me to wait and see since apparently the symptoms I am having are very common for clomid. I agree will millbarnett that the symptoms tend to resemble early pregnancy symptoms which is very frustrating. If you have any sever pain be sure to call your doctor right away because large cysts are not uncommon with clomid. I am going to see an RE next week so I am hoping she will monitor me more closely than my OB/GYN has been.

I have PCOS and was given both Clomid and Femara. Went up to the highest dose on both and took each for 10 days (double the normal time). I had zero symptoms that I could attribute to the Clomid but was only able to develop one egg each time and had a super thin lining. We tried with Femara and still had a super thin lining so we don't think it was the Clomid. Estrogen patches took care of the lining but I'm doing injectables now. Good luck!
