Question

Corpus luteum cyst ! Has anyone had this during their pregnancy before ?

So in going to the ER yesterday I also found out that i have what is called a pregnancy cyst. They said it would go away on its own if the woman does not become pregnant . In the sono the doc said he couldnt see anything but the cyst. I am so freaked out as Beta level was only 730 at 17dpo. No period, test are positive, so lets hope the baby sticks and grows. Im praying that it was just to early to see anything on the ultrasound. But this cyst, what will happen if the pregnancy persist and it gets worse??? Im freaking right now .

I had the same thing while pregnant with my second child. My doctor explained that it is very common and usually just disappers within the first few weeks. Mine did just that. My son just turned 6 last week! NO need to worry !

I had one on my right ovary...its very normal and can be painful at times. It starts to die down as u get closer to the placenta taking over. I really wouldnt worry about it.
Congrats! =))

it more than common its actually essential... its the folicle that produced the fertilised egg and it produces the progesterone to stop miscarriage as without you enter your 'period' state

you can still misscarry for lots other reason though but you wont bleed, known as a MMC in that case you can need to take medication to stop the corpus luteum so that the baby passes

but over all the baseline thing to know is it a very good thing to have

Thank you so much for your responses. Im hearing from quite a few ladies that this is actually normal. I have 2 other children and I have never encountered or even heard of this type of cyst before. So again thank you for the positive information. I love to hear about others actual experiences.

I had this and my doc told me it aided the pregnancy in the early weeks; inwhich it will go away after 12-13 weeks. All went well and it did! Its a good thing!!! Enjoy ur pregnancy;)
