hCG shows up in your blood first before it shows up in your urine. Generally a blood test can detect hCG starting at around 6dpo as implantation usually happens 6-10 days after ovulation. You're doctor isn't likely to offer you a blood test until A) you get a positive pregnancy test and you need to confirm your beta number for one reason or another, or B) you miss your period and are still getting bfns. Doctors won't just let you have a blood test unless there's a medically necessary reason. If you want to know as soon as possible if you're pregnant I'd suggest using an ultra sensitive internet cheapie test or a First Response; those two seem to work well at early detection.

Depending on where you are, you can go through anylabtestnow, or a similar company and get a blood test for around 40 bucks. I did that to check my betas, since my ob didn't want to... super easy. Good luck!
