Question

Miscarriage risk?

I know I should know this, but if any other professional out there would be so kind as to reassure me. I had a pregnancy loss in April. I recently discovered that I am pregnant again (YAY and OMG). I am terrified of losing another baby. That being said, when I found out that I was pregnant again, my midwife and I decided a progesterone level check would be a good idea. My midwife said my levels were midlevel both times they were checked (three days apart). We did not do HCG though in hindsight I wish we had. So, my question is, with normal progesterone levels, what are my chances of a repeat loss? Ultrasound in one week to check for FHT. I'll be 7 weeks at that time. Thanks in advance

Probably not what u wanna hear right now, but I've never had issues with progesterone levels and still lost the last 2 beans. Progesterone wont save an embryo if there's something wrong with it, eventually ur body will do what its supposed to do and expel it. Not saying urs is doomed, dont get me wrong, just that having great P4 levels (even hCG) doesnt guaranty anything.
Good luck & Congrats! =))

I am so so so so so sorry for your loss. I don't know how you are managing as I was a hot mess after I lost my baby in April. Wishing you the absolute best.

Here's hoping we both have FHT at 7 weeks :)

I was upset, of course, but I tried to view it from a positive point. My body saw something wasnt right and responded accordingly. I cant be upset about that...I'm grateful it did what needed to be done as early as possible.

All the best to u as well. Stay positive!! =))

Very similar situation myself, I got PG in March/April and miscarried in June. I'm PG again, about 5 weeks and my symptoms come and go. I haven't even bothered to go to the doctor yet. I am trying to hold out until at-least 8 weeks so unfortunately it's not "fun" because with the lack of symptoms I am uncertain what's happening. I was having the morning sickness thing going and then it would stop and pick up again in another couple days, so right now I'm hoping it's the hcg about to double again because we're on 2 days of no sickness. Now middle of the night bathroom trips are still ongoing but it's just sad when you "hope" for sickness, lol.

I am very sorry for your loss! Yes it is a little crazy to be praying for sickness, but I find myself doing it all the time. I had 0 nausea with the pregnancy I lost. That being said though, when I got pregnant with my son 11yrs ago, I would occasionally feel nauseated with certain scents such as fast food, but never once did I vomit.

This pregnancy, I am a little nauseated in the morning and in the evening. I have the breast tenderness (and colostrum already), frequent running to the bathroom including in the middle of the night, and fatigue (though not as bad as last time...however last time I was working 40hrs a week, oncall all the times and a full time Nurse-Midwifery student..I had reason to be extra tired). All of those are psitive signs, but at the same time I have cramping....which isn't really that great. This may be TMI but I also have IBS so sometimes it is hard to tell what is uterine cramping and what is lower intestinal cramps

Dear lady, I am currently a grandmother (sorry I have to lie about my year of birth because my year was not shown on the list, I am from 1950) and entered this site because one of my daughters has a problem with her second pregnancy. She had my first granddaughter 16 years ago and now she was pregnant again in a new couple. Checking I saw your post and I will speak from my experience: 40 years ago I miscarried my first pregnancy, due to ??? Never new, those days didn't have enough controls like nowadays. So, when I got pregnant again with my eldest daughter (the one that is pregnant now), I was walking keeping my legs tight, thinking that this would prevent any new miscarriage. Later on the pregnancy, I traveled by bus more than 20 hours through mountains, climbed a mountain, worked until last day, and everything was just fine. I think that Mother Nature is smart and if some miscarriage happens it is because a problem, sporadic, with the embryo.

I only want to give you the hope that everything will be alright this time! When the baby is healthy, the pregnancy supports everything. But like a professor told me in my first good pregnancy: please take care of the "nest" with the "egg" inside. Good luck! And please let us know time to time that everything goes perfect!
