Essential oils during pregnancy and trying to conceive
Hi ladies so I'm a big oils person....in my opinion essential oils can fix anything & everything lol. So I was reading an article earlier about oils NOT to use during pregnancy... Some of which were my favorites. Which I guess never even crossed my mind!! Almost wondering if possibly its the reason I haven't gotten pregnant in a year of trying ???? So my question is..is anyone more familiar w/ oils??? Good /bad for conceiving or pregnancy??? Are there ones to enhance fertility???
Thnx!! Baby dust to all ;-)

I found that some hormone blends threw off my cycle and I had to use them accordingly. For example, I felt one was delaying ovulation for me even though I know plenty of people who used the same blend daily with no problem. I had to use it only after ov. Other single oils, such as clary sage, can possibly impact estrogen levels and I imagine that would make it counterproductive for some women after ov when progesterone should be higher. I've used oils sparingly since becoming pg just to be on the safe side, however there are definitely some - again, such as clary sage - that should not be used during pregnancy. You may consider speaking with an aromatherapist to determine a safe oil regime for you that won't have potentially negative effects on fertility or be a threat to the safety of your baby when you become pg. I share your enthusiasm for oils, but definitely encourage proper education on using them out of respect for their capabilities.

I use rosemary in my homemade shampoo and have opted to keep using it. It's so misleading because some of the adverse reactions reported might have been from using oils that weren't free of synthetics and additives. I personally wouldn't use it in something like a lotion or probably even a body wash, but it's pretty diluted in my shampoo, goes on wet hair, then quickly gets rinsed away, so I feel better using it that way.
