I probably won't be too helpful since I am TTC #1, but we are trying our best for a boy since I have 2 step daughters. From what I have read, it is best to DTD as close to ovulation as possible, and deepest penetration. Girl swimmers live longer but are slower, boys are stronger and faster but don't live as long. For diet I've read that its good to eat a bowl of cereal every morning, eat bananas, red meat, and salty foods. Ive also read that you should add 400-500 extra calories to your diet. Once again I am not certain if they're old wives tales (especially when it comes to diet) but I've been reading on this fact. It is mentioned to have a high alkaline diet because it makes CM more friendly for boy swimmers. I have also started taking royal jelly, and am thinking about adding gelatin (its supposed to help boost testosterone, which mine is on the low side)

I have heard of diet plans to better chances for either boy or girl and of the Shettles Method. I wouldn't spend too much time on any of this. Many followed these methods and didn't end up with what they hoped for. I would definite not add 400-500 extra calories to my diet. This will only lead to extra pounds. Good luck with your efforts!

Okay the only SCIENCE-based guidance I have heard, read, and saw work, were this:
'Boy' swimmers ARE faster and die sooner
'Girl' Swimmers are slower and die sooner
A girl swimmer could hang around a long time, so avoid having sex the week leading up to Ovulation (if you can figure out the timing)
Wait until your OPK signals ovulation is coming in the next 24-36 hours. I would buy the 20 strip kits so you can test like crazy to be sure. Thennnn dtd as close to your actual ovulation as possible. and then again and again ;) GL!
