17 dpo. 4 days late. Bfn's. Will a blood test be worth a try on 18dpo and hopefully pick up a + ?

17 dpo 4 days late. Booked to see doc tomorrow at 18dpo. Late appointment so probably won't be able to get blood test done but probably will send me off for the next day at 18dpo (obviously if af doesn't arrive by then) my question is. Is there a possibility for a blood test to pick up pregnancy when hpts hasn't. Is it still early for a blood test? Shall I wait more or go for it?
